The Company of the guides of Chamonix - GRAND PARADIS (Italy)(3 days)

This 3-day ski-trek will reveal to you Italy’s largest National Park. In the heart of the range, we will lead you to the summit of the Grand Paradis (4061m), from which some of the greatest peaks in the Alps can be admired.

Difficulty level : for good skiers with day ski-touring experience.

MEETING PLACE : on day 1 at 8h30 at the Chamonix Guides Company, ready to leave.
End of the tour at Chamonix.

Groups : from 4 to 5 people per guide. These standards are specific to the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix and are among most strict of the market. The guide remains the only judge lasting the stay to modify the program according to the weather conditions and of the mountain, of the form of the participants, the technical assets.

Lodging : dormitories in gardianed refuges. (no showers)

Price winter 2010 : 440 euros/pers. Including :
- professional guiding services (max. 5 px/guide)
- half board in refuges (dinner, sleeping and breakfast) , lunches and snacks
- transportation by bus
- Avalanche transciever rental
(Note : drinks are not included)

Subscribing to a repatriation insurance is obligatory. A cancelling insurance is strongly recommended.

ITINERARY :

DAY 1 : A bus takes you to Pont in Val Savaranche. There, we are often welcomed by Chamois and Ibexes for lunch. A steep tour up into a beautiful larch forest takes us to the mellower alpine meadows and to the refuge of Victor Emmanuel (2732m)
Vertical Rise : 770m Touring time : 3 to 4 hours

DAY 2 : First, a traverse allows us to set foot on the Grand Paradis glacier ; a gentle pitch leads us to the junction with Lavaciau glacier and Col de Becca di Moncorve (3875m). Roped up, we crampon up a steeper but not difficult slope to the summit ridge. A magnifiscent ski descent to the refuge awaits you, with the French, Italian and Swiss Alps as a background.VR + Vertical Drop : 1350m Touring time : approx. 6hrs

DAY 3 : A ski-run under the Ciarforon takes us to the Grand Etret glacier, and to the small valley of Sevia (depending on conditions), followed
by an amazing descent down to Pont. Return to Chamonix.
