This is the eldorado of ski touring. A very forgiving relief with numerous perfectly situated refuges sums up the Vanoise. The Vanoise haute route and its varients are amongst the most beautiful ski touring routes of the alps. Level : for ski tourers with good off-pist skiing skills and in good physical condition. Price winter 2010 : 825 euros/pers. Including : - professional guiding services (max. 6 px/guide) - half board in refuges (dinner, sleeping and breakfast) , lunches and snacks - transportation by bus - Avalanche transciever rental (Note : drinks are not included) Lodging : dormitories in gardianed and confortable refuges. |

ITINERARY : Day 1 : We take the ski lift from VT to the col de Thorens. Climb the col de Gebroulaz and arrive at the mont Gebroulaz. Enjoy the gorgous descent of the glacier and go to the roc de la peche refuge. Altitude gain 300 descent 1600m Day 2 : 3 possibilities depending on the participants abilities and the snow conditions, with one commun final descent : - Via the Breche de la Croix de la Rue (100m. at 45°)- often hard snow - Via the Col d’Aussois getting harder for the last 50 meters - Via the Planettes and the col d’Aussois from where we climb to the Parrachee refuge Ascent : 1200 m and descent : 600 m Day 3 : Climb the col de Labby, descend to the wild Mahure glacier in the shadow of the north face of the Dent Parrachee and tranverse under the Arpont lake before arriving at the beautiful stone refuge at l’Arpont Ascent : 800 m and descent : 1100 m Day 4 : A magnificent stage. From the refuge climb to the Dome de Chasseforet up the east face. Cross the Grands Plateaux, th col du Pelve and the col du Dard. Perhaps ascend the pointe de Dard before descending to the refuge Felix –Faure via the RF glacier (passing the point at 3044m). Ascent 1350m and descent 1200 m Day 5 : from the refuge climb the Grande Casse glacier. Amongst superb scenery we reach Cha mpagny le Haut. Transfer by taxi to Moutiers Ascent 600m and descent 1600 m |
Groups : from 4 to 6 people per guide. These standards are specific to the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix and are among most strict of the market. The guide remains the only judge lasting the stay to modify the program according to the weather conditions and of the mountain, of the form of the participants, the technical assets.
