Summer 2010 > High Altitude > "1st 4000" Courses :
Tempted by high altitude, you dream about your first 4000 m summit.
This course will allow you to climb the Aiguille du Tour (3542 m), magnificent summit of the Mont-Blanc range in the Chamonix Valley.
Then you will leave for your first 4000 m climb in Italy, the aptly named Gran Paradiso.

Our standart for these two summits : 4 participants maximum with a guide.

The rendez-vous
: 8.30 a.m. on the morning of departure at the guide’s office with your equipment.

Departure : Every week from Monday to Friday from mid-June to end of September.

Programme :

Jour 1 :
Initiation on la Mer de Glace on the use of crampons and the ice-axe, walking while roped up and learning elementary knots. On this first day, a guide will take a maximum of 6 clients.

Jour 2 : Morning : Rock climbing school on Les Gaillands cliff. Then you leave for the Albert 1er hut, where you will spend the night.

Jour 3 : Ascent of the Aiguille du Tour (3542 m) from the Albert 1er across the Tour glacier, and the beautiful Trient plateau (4 persons /1 guide).

Jour 4 : Transfer Chamonix / Pont, village in Italie.Hiking to refuge Victor Emmanuel (2732 m). (4 persons / 1guide)

Jour 5 : Ascent of the Gran Paradiso 4061 m. Transfer back to Chamonix
EQUIPMENT :

Dress in several layers in order to be able to adjust to temperature.Warm clothes: Technical windbreaker pants and jacket (with a hood) , technical underwear, (pants and tee-shirt) polar fleece. Quality gloves and or mits, Warm socks, gaiters. Altitude sunglasses and goggles.
Waterbottle.Headlamp, sunscreen lotion.Specific equipment: Quality mountaineering boots (rigid soles), Crampons and an ice axe, harness, helmet. Specific equipment can be rented in local sport shops for approximately 25 € per person and per day.The guide will advise you according to the conditions at the time.

Summer price 2010 : 820 € per person

This price includes : the services of a professional mountain guide; the cable-car & train; mid-day picnics; and half-board at the mountain hut on days 2 and 4.
