The Bornes range situated between the Chamonix valley and the Mont-Blanc range offers a large selection of interesting snowshoeing hikes : The gorgeous Parmelan (over the lake of Annecy) and Des Glières plateau,
The Aravis comb up to the Pointe Percée…
Group : from 5 to 8 participants for one guide.
Winter 2010 : 650 euros per person
Including :
- the guide
- full board accomodation (twin room basis in Hôtel **, breakfast, Picnic lunch and dinner)
- transfers
- Equipment rental (snowshoes and poles)
Meeting : 8h AM at the Compagnie des Guides office,on day 1.

Every day, the programme is decided depending on the weather forecast, the snow conditions, and the group physical shape.
Please find here following a 6 days example programme :
Sunday : La Montagne des Auges (1822 m)
Over the famous Des Glières plateau, the Des Auges mountain allows an interesting and beautiful hiking, not too tiring for a first day.

Monday : Les Rochers de Leschaux (1936 m)
The Rochers de Leschaux, a lapiaz mountain between the Solaison and Cenise plateaus offers a spectacular view in the middle of winter on the frozen cliffs of the Bargy range and on Sous-Dine and the des Glières plateau.

Tuesday : Refuge de Gramusset (2164 m)
The hut is situated at the foot of La pointe Percée, highest point of Aravis (2750 m).
You will reach it hiking through the bottom of each Aravis comb. From the Confins small village (1430 m), we leave the forest to dicover the wide landscape under the Aravis peaks.

Wednesday : Col des Nantets ( 1426m) et Chalets de l’Aup (1424 m)
The Chalets de l’Aup at the foot of the Tournette mountain (2353m) are overlooking the Annecy lake (+ 750 m of altitude difference )

Thursday : La Montagne de Sulens (1828 m)
This peak is towering the little Manigod valley, one of the most genuine from the Aravis. Situated south of the Bornes, it is framed by Le Charvin (2409 m) and La Tournette (2315 m).

Friday : Sous-Dine (2001 m)
The peaceful Sous-Dine mountain is renowned as the biggest « Petit Tétras » breeding place and in October and November the chamois are meeting there for the love season.You will enjoy the beautiful view on the Rochois land. (+ 900 m of altitude difference )

For well trained hikers : Parmelan (1832 m)
The Annecy mountain towering the lake. A wide calcareous plateau, a variety of lanscapes, forest and Lapiaz. A long charming hiking.

You will be back in Chamonix on day 6, in the afternoon.
Personal Equipment :
Mountain hiking boots,(warm, comfortable and waterproof), warm, comfortable and waterproof clothes (ex :polar fleece jumper and warm underwear, Gore-tex jacket wind-breaker...),gloves,hat, sunglasses,a small backpack to carry your picnic lunch, your water and camera...
