18 February : Couloir Whymper at the Aiguille Verte.
La "Verte" , is the highest 4000 meters peak which is wholly french. It's a dream for any alpinist one problem though : no easy route to reach the summit and furthermore to come back !
Therefore, the "normal route" is the Whymper couloir, climbed for the first time in 1865, nowadays it's still an ambitious aim.

Heading up for the Couvercle hut.

A nice view of the couloir from the hut.

A beautiful sunrise.

Great atmosphere ...!

Luc, strong on his calfs !

Reaching the Grande Rocheuse pass.

The ridge is quite narrow at this time of
the season !

Well done Luc !

17 February : Les Dômes de Miage.
Helidrop at the Col Infranchissable ( Insurmountable Pass ) then a little bit of ski touring and eventually some alpinism to reach the summit of Dôme de Miage.
From the summit, a fantastic ski descent on the Glacier d'Armancette will bring us back all the way down to Les Contamines.

45 minutes of ski touring ...

... then, the ridge and behind us
the west side of Mont-Blanc.

Mind the first section of the descent !
It's steep !

... and off you go ...
confidence is coming back !

14 to 17 February : Ski around the Mont-Blanc.
The conditions are just great at the moment : bluebird sky, cold snow and we even manage to find some spots to make the frist tracks ! What else ? !

Some powder snow right under Blaitière ...

... sun, sun , sun .

Ski touring at the Col d'Entrèves.

Then, a nice descent on the south side
with a vertiginous start !

The Couloir du Buet on the Vallorcine area, The Couloir des Vans, right above Trient and the famous Pas de Chèvre from Grands-Montets,
an unforgettable day for advanced skiers only !

We're at the top of le Tour
and a great day is starting ...

Light powder snow at
the Couloir du Buet !

The first section of Couloir des Vans :
steep

Wide snow fields going down to Trient ...

Pas de Chèvre and its great view : Nant Blanc ...

3 February : Tour Ronde north face.
The Tour Ronde offers one of the greatest point of view of the Mont-Blanc massif. Located at the very top of the Glacier du Géant,
the Tour Ronde is in the heart of the massif and gives us the opportunity to enjoy the view as far as the Oisans massif.

A magnificient summit.

Stéphane starts the
first first steep part.

Then in the gully.

A tricky section !

Meeting with the blessed Virgin
at the summit.

2 February : Goulotte "Valéria".
A very beautiful ice itinerary, in a wild atmosphere between two famous routes "Roi de Siam" and "Grand Capucin".
Once we reach the summit, we'll discover and enjoy an impressive view on the "Grand Capucin".

Black ice, very hard on this first pitch
Luckily it will get better !

The next part is just perfect.

Some mixt climbing further
up to spice up theday ...
a very complete route !

Well done Stéphane !
Behind us the Grand Capucin and
its impressive East Face
