The Mountaineering Club is a cycle of outings and theoretical courses spread over the summer dedicated to autonomy. It aims to provide skills in mountain preparation, safety in roped activities and techniques to improve your techniques in glacial and mixed rocky terrain. The Mountaineering Club is for people who have already practiced mountaineering or climbing and wish to develop or strengthen their autonomy.
June 2: Theoretical evening (6pm - 9pm). Race preparation: taking information, reading the topo, preparing the bag, simple mapping, weather.
June 3: Technical day of mountaineering. Learning or revision of rope and belay techniques necessary for mountain climbing: belaying, bust rings, rappelling, relay building.
June 24: Day trip in rocky terrain. Assuring, abseiling, laying protections, making a relay. Example: South edge of the Index in the Aiguilles Rouges.
July 22nd: Day out on mixed terrain. Glacier movement and roping, belaying in motion, laying protections. Example: Crossing Marbled Needles. (Aiguilles Marbrés).
1/2 September: Two-day trip with a night at the Argentière refuge. Implementation of all the notions discussed previously. Examples: Arête du Raboin, Gâteau de Riz.
The program is given as an indication. Your guide is likely to modify it according to the level of the group and the conditions of the mountain.
2018 PRICE : 670€ per person for the cycle - Registration and participation in the complete cycle only.
This price includes: Supervision by a mountain guide.
This price does not include:
- Movements and lifts.
- Accommodation in a shelter.
- The possible rental of personal technical equipment.
REQUIRED LEVEL :
Climbing : level 5+/6a in the lead
Mountaineering experience level AD
3 people per guide the days in the mountain, 6 people per guide for the theory evenings & 4 people per guide for the mountaineering technical day. 12 places maximum for the year 2018.
