Based in the Chamonix valley, this hiking trip gathers a selection of the most scenic day-hikes around the top of Europe.
Group transfers, lifts and lunches are taken care of by the mountain leader.
Day 1 : The Loriaz alpine pastures
From the village of Vallorcine, we gently head towards the Loriaz cattle grazing area. Just a couple hundred feet before we reach our goal, a fantastic panoramic view over the Mont-Blanc range, nearby peaks and the Aiguilles Rouges range leaves us speechless. The descent follows a different route, towards and along the Bérard creek.

Day 2 : The Saxe mountain (Italy)
After a short minivan ride to the town of Courmayeur, Italy, we hike from the upper Villair hamlet in the direction of the Bertone hut. Mont de la Saxe is an incredible belvedere to admire the steepest peaks of the Mont Blanc massif while we enjoy an extra-long lunch-break. The hut makes it hard to resist the call of a real Italian “cappuccino “.

Day 3 : Col de Balme
A steady climb up takes us to the French/Swiss border, the Col de Balme (2191m) from where the views on the north face of the Mont-Blanc range are breathtaking. This fabulous décor will escort us until the listed hamlet of Tré le Champ.
Elevation gain: 2 985 ft. - Elevation drop: 2 625 ft. - Around 8 km
Day 4 : Aiguillette des Houches
Back on the French side of the Mont-Blanc range, we start our hike from the hamlet of La Flatière and start our ascent to Aiguillette des Houches (7 500ft). From the top we can enjoy a 360° panoramic view. The scenery over the top of Europe is just breathtaking! Mont Blanc seems to be at an arm’s reach…

Day 5 : Col des Montets- Lac Blanc - Argentière
We take a short drive to the Col des Montets where we begin our hike along the Grand Balcon to the spectacularly situated Lac Blanc, the many glaciers and peaks of the entire range in view. We will enjoy a delicious lunch facing the Mont-Blanc range. Our descent lead us to the Chalets des Cheserys, heading to Argentière.

The guide may have to adapt the route to weather conditions and/or to group physical and/or technical ability.

At 8.00 am in front of the Compagnie des Guides in Chamonix on Day 1.
You are welcome to come and meet your guide the evening before at our office at 6 pm.
3/5 - It is a moderate trek. A minimum of 700m (2350ft) vertical gain and about 6 to 7 hours of hiking daily. Hiking on generally well-maintained mountain trails, sometimes including easy out-of-trail sections. For active people who don’t mind training to prepare for the hike. A great multiday hike for people with trekking experience.
