Multi-day mountaineering
The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix offers a full range of mountaineering trips and courses aimed at families, groups and individuals. Our Mountain Guides will take you on an breathtaking exploration of the world of high altitude, they will teach you alpine climbing including basic mountaineering techniques and they will guide you to your first ascents.
Our mountaineering trips in the Alps always include a period of acclimatisation to altitude and technical preparation before an ascent, such as Mont Blanc, Aiguille du Tour or Gran Paradiso. Our mountain guides’ complete knowledge of the Alps means they can suggest an outing perfectly adapted to your needs and fitness levels. The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix also offers mountaineering courses based in the Mont Blanc Massif for beginner to advanced climbers to take you from your first steps in mountaineering up to lead climbing. A dedicated set of courses has been developed from climbing schools in crag sites to crevasse rescue and hazard management. With our climbing guides and mountain guides, you will begin to climb and learn the specific technical skills required for rock climbing and alpine mountaineering. You will learn all you have to know to be a proper alpinist and climber: carabineer, rope, belay, abseil, knots, ice axes, crampons will no longer be a mystery for you!
The Mont Blanc Massif lift system, including Aiguille du Midi, Brévent and Montenvers- Mer de Glace, allow quick access to a number of different sectors. Nights in mountain huts also allow you to soak up the atmosphere and create an even more intense and unforgettable experience. From the start of the winter onwards you can also enjoy ice climbing in the Chamonix Valley at the foot of the Argentière glacier or in the Berard Valley.
