Skiing

The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix offers a wide range of ski and freeride activities. From beginners to advanced skiers, everyone can enjoy the snow while skiing and breaking trail in the very heart of the outstanding Pays du Mont-Blanc environment.

The Chamonix Valley clusters several world-renowned ski lifts and cable cars. Discover the best off-piste itineraries with breathtaking views of high peaks and their glaciers. Chamonix is also the basecamp in the French Alps to go ski touring and enjoy amazing powder snow. Go skinning in high altitude and get to the top of a few summits asking for crampons and ice-axe. Departing from the Aiguille du Midi cablecar - at an altitude of more than 3700 meters – the Vallée Blanche descent will take you through crevasses, glacial bowls and seracs. The Grands Montets ski area is particularly appreciated for its exceptional snow conditions.  It gives you access to the Argentière Basin, a ski touring heaven that you can discover with our high mountain guides.

Our multi-day ski tours – either from hut to hut or staying in a single hut – offer a total immersion in the world of high mountains. Staying in mountain huts is an experience like no other. You will enjoy alpine cuisine, swap stories and wake up to breathtaking vistas each morning. The Hautes Routes - such as the famous Chamonix-Zermatt High Route - will give you the chance to travel in the Alps while contemplating some amazing landscapes. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to ski past iconic peaks such as the Matterhorn, all while traversing some of the most pristine backcountry terrain.
