Day mountaineering
Set out on an extraordinary journey into the heart of the Mont Blanc Massif. Our Mountain guides will take you on a rewarding exploration of the world of glaciers where they will teach you basic mountaineering skills and techniques for using crampons, ice axe and rope.
In climbing crags, they will also teach you climbing techniques: knots, belay, descend, top rope, abseil. They will guide you to some unforgettable peaks for your first ascent. Whatever you are a beginner / advanced climber or mountaineer, their complete knowledge of the Mont Blanc Massif and the Alps means they can suggest an outing perfectly adapted to your needs and fitness levels. The Mont Blanc Massif lifts, including the Aiguille du Midi, the Brévent and the Montenvers - Mer de Glace, allow rapid access to a number of different sectors that are ideal for day outings. The Cosmiques Arête and the Traverse of the Marbrées are two fun and varied routes that are not to be missed.
The Aiguilles Rouges also offer a large choice of bolted routes for sport climbing with fantastic, unobstructed views of the Mont Blanc Massif. The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix also offers a full range of mountaineering courses including crevasse rescue and climbing courses with overnights in huts to take you from your first steps in mountaineering up to lead climbing.
