Vallée Blanche
The Vallée Blanche ski descent is one of the most famous off-piste ski itineraries in the Alps. Starting from the Aiguille du Midi at over 3,800 metres above sea level, this legendary route offers a unique high-mountain experience in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif.
After descending the narrow ridge of the Aiguille du Midi, several off-piste routes lead skiers into the spectacular glacial terrain of the Vallée Blanche. Over nearly 20 kilometres and more than 2,000 metres of vertical descent, the route crosses glaciers surrounded by seracs and crevasses at the foot of the iconic peaks of the Mont Blanc massif. Accompanied by our high mountain guides, you ski through this extraordinary landscape with the possibility of stopping at the Requin hut, which offers a breathtaking view of the Géant Glacier serac fall.
The descent then continues along the Mer de Glace with panoramic views of the Aiguilles de Chamonix and the famous Aiguille Verte. Depending on snow conditions, the return to Chamonix can be made entirely on skis via the Mottets area or by taking the Montenvers gondola and the historic Montenvers train. To ski the Vallée Blanche safely, a solid black-piste skiing level is required, as well as confidence skiing in variable snow or powder.
