The descent of the Vallée Blanche starts at the Aiguille du Midi and is a fabulous route through the heart of outstanding glaciated terrain. The Vallée Blanche contains a collection of routes for exploring the mountains, on skis. It is a veritable excursion over 20km long, across glaciers and between crevasses. It is possible to stop for lunch at the Requin mountain hut, opposite the impressive serac fall of the Géant glacier. The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix organises trips every day. Depending on the snow conditions, you can ski down to Chamonix via the Mottets hut or take the train from Le Montenvers. For a more unusual way to ski the route, opt for a night in the Cosmiques hut and a descent by the light of the full moon.
