General information
The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix offers you the chance to enjoy an unforgettable summer inflatable canoe experience. Also known as canoe-rafts and mini-rafts, these two-person crafts are designed for river navigation with double paddles. Manage your own descent of the Arve, that legendary playground of the Mont Blanc region, in complete autonomy as your instructor accompanies you in his or her own canoe.
Try out some audacious moves over 45 minutes and along 6km of river for some serious extreme excitement! With its inflatable structure and self-draining base, inflatable canoes are half way between rafts and canoes. We meet at the Compagnie des Guides’ inflatable canoe water sports base, with its warm showers and lockers, in the heart of Chamonix. The only requirements to be able to participate in inflatable canoeing is to be over 1.4m tall.

Supervision : Group from 4 to 8 people supervised by a guide. Children over 1.4m tall accompanied by a parent

Price 2023 (group booking) : 57€ per person
This price includes :
- supervision by instructor
- technical equipment: wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, paddle and inflatable canoe
- transfer back to the water sports base

Accessing the water sports base : The base is located 393 Promenade du Fori, just behind the swimming pool, near the tennis courts. Car park is 150m away on the other side of the Arve river, access via the Promenade des Sonnailles footbridge.

Duration : 45 min on board for 2 hours activity (the schedule is given as an indication)
Location : On the Arve river from the water sports base
Level : Beginner, over 1.4m tall, max weight 120kg. Water sport: be able to float on the back and keep the head above water for 5 seconds, to jump, to swim 25 meters, and to pass under a floating object.
