The Rebuffat route was first climbed by Gaston Rébuffat and Maurice Bacquet during the first ascent of the Aiguille du Midi southern face (3842m) back in 1956. This route is one of the most beautiful climbs of the Mont Blanc Massif. Quick access by cable car, it includes everything that a mountain climb can offer: majestic surroundings, colourful granite and varied climbing: slab, dihedral, crack including the famous crack of the second pitch. The Rebuffat is definitely a climbing route not to be missed in the Mont Blanc Massif.
After 10 pitches on a beautiful orange granite, we abseil onto the Aiguille du Midi southern terrace. The Rebuffat is a climbing route that requires previous experience in rock climbing and the ability to climb at least a minimum French grade 5c/6a.
