With a challenging 3600m positive elevation gain and a 50km distance to cover, the one-day Tour of the Aiguilles Rouges offers a nature-based challenge that serves as an excellent gauge of your readiness for this level of effort. This tour unfolds in an extraordinary natural setting, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of the Aiguilles Rouges, Sixt Passy, and Carlaveyron nature reserves. Early in the morning, you'll pass by the iconic Lac Blanc, with the majestic Mont-Blanc Massif as your backdrop, before venturing into the rugged valleys of Bérard and Villy. The route features multiple refueling points and an escape route in the latter part, making it an ideal choice for those seeking their first experience in this kind of endeavor.
This program is part of a series of programs we have developed thanks to the unique experience of our trail team, composed of specialized mountain guides who are multi-finishers in major races. Challenge yourself with our day Tour of the Aiguilles Rouges, develop endurance during our intensive weekend, and complete the full Tour du Mont Blanc in only 5 days.
Group session associates several people who don’t know each other. It allows for a planned program to benefit from an attractive price on fixed dates. This formula is ideal for people looking for the friendliness of a group.

A private booking is the historical relationship that binds a mountain leader to their clients. It allows you to be alone or in your own group with your mountain leader who will meet your specific needs.It is undoubtedly the ideal formula realise your projects because it guarentees you a maximum amount of comfort. Depending on the weather conditions, the proposed route can be adjusted according to your level and expectations, the professional can suggest alternatives to the itinerary.

Meeting point : meet at 5am in front of the Compagnie des Guides in Chamonix
Ability level : 5/5. The Aiguilles Rouge Trail tour is of a sustained difficulty. A minimum of 3600m (11811ft) vertical gain and 50km or 10h - 12h of running during the day. Running on generally well-maintained mountain trails, sometimes including out-of-trail sections. An intensive regular weekly running and trail experience are essential.
Guiding policy : minimum 4 and maximum 8 people per state qualified guide. The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix's guiding policy is one of the strictest in the mountain guiding business. It guarantees a better level of comfort and a high-quality personalised advice.
Important : Registration possible from 16 years of age. Registration is not permitted to anyone under the age of 18 without a legal guardian.

Documentation :
- Participants must have sports insurance with repatriation cover. We strongly recommend that this also includes cancellation cover. You can take out insurance offering both of these types of cover when you sign up.
- Participants must also take valid ID with them.
Preparing for the trip : There is a preparation meeting the day before departure at 6pm at the Compagnie des Guides Office to review the equipment and give you all the tips to make the most of your trip.

The content of your trail backpack is quite close to the mandatory equipment required on an Ultra Trail. Take special care in choosing your equipment because it contributes greatly to the success of your trip, lightening the load is paramount to a successful trip ! Lunches will be in a refuge or inn. All equipment must be protected against the rain (zip loc type freezer bags)

Clothes
For added comfort regarding underwear, (t-shirts, boxers, socks), avoid cotton which is heavy, cold and dries very slowly. Opt for synthetic technical fabrics or wool, which is making a comeback. They are warmer and dry quickly.

Itinerary
Day 0 : A preparation meeting at 6pm at the Compagnie des Guides to review the equipment and give you all the tips to make the most of of you day.
Day 1 : Direction Aiguilles Rouges !
Departure at 5am from the church of Chamonix for Flégère and Lac Blanc (7,716ft) where we enjoy a magnificent sunrise over the Mont-Blanc Massif. Crossing to the Tête au vent and descent to the Col des Montets and the Buet. Ascent of the Vallon de Bérard to reach the refuge of Pierre à Bérard (6,315ft) where it is possible to stock up on supplies. We continue upwards climbing to the Col de Salenton (8,287ft) which gives access to the wild valley of Villy. We progress onto the exceptional natural setting to the refuge of Moëde where we restock our energy - lunch! We continue with the ascent of Brévent (8,284ft) which takes place in an environment that becomes more and more mineral. From the summit (possible to curtail the day here by taking the cable car back down), we begin our long descent to Chamonix via the Bellachat refuge where we can re-stock our supplies one last time. Return to the church of Chamonix in the middle of the afternoon.
