Hiking Adventure on the GR5 for juniors
Physical Level 1: For individuals who engage in occasional physical activity, positive elevation gain up to 250m or distance up to 5km.
Physical Level 2: For individuals who engage in regular physical activity, positive elevation gain up to 500m or distance up to 10km.
Physical Level 3: For individuals who engage in regular endurance activities, positive elevation gain up to 1000m or distance up to 20km or multi-day routes without carrying personal belongings.
Physical Level 4: For individuals who engage in regular endurance activities, positive elevation gain up to 1400m or distance up to 25km or multi-day routes with carrying personal belongings.
Physical Level 5: For individuals who engage in intensive endurance activities, positive elevation gain exceeding 1400m or distance exceeding 25km.
Technical Level 1: For walkers, capable of navigating wide mountain trails suitable for vehicles.
Technical Level 2: For occasional hikers, capable of navigating non-technical mountain trails.
Technical Level 3: For regular hikers, capable of navigating slightly uneven mountain trails with roots or rocks.
Technical Level 4: For experienced hikers, capable of navigating rugged mountain trails with boulders, large steps, or exposed sections.
Technical Level 5: For seasoned hikers, capable of navigating off-trail routes or mountain trails with equipped sections, such as cables or ladders.

From Lake Geneva to Chamonix, your children will experience an immersive nature adventure on one of France's most beautiful long-distance hiking trails: the GR5. The experienced and passionate guides will send photos each evening to keep you updated.
The group option brings together several people who may not know each other. For a given program, it allows you to take advantage of an attractive rate on fixed dates. This option is ideal for those seeking the camaraderie of a group.

Price 2027 : 900 € - based on a minimum of 8 participants

Meeting point : Meet at 8.00 am at the Compagnie des Guides office, 190 Place de l’Eglise, 74400 Chamonix.
Ability level : 4/5 - This section of GR5 crossing is a moderately difficult hike. Expect a minimum of 700m of elevation gain and an average of 5 hours of walking per day. The hike follows generally well-maintained mountain trails. Children should be athletic, able to follow instructions, and capable of working independently within a group. Prior experience with day hikes is recommended.
Itinerary: The guide may need to adjust the itinerary based on weather conditions and/or the physical and/or technical abilities of the group
Guiding policy : The group consists of a maximum of 8 to 14 children supervised by 2 qualified professionals
Accomodation : 3 nights in campsite + 1 night in moutain hut in dormitory

- Participants must have sports insurance with repatriation cover. We strongly recommend that this also includes cancellation cover. You can take out insurance offering both of these types of cover when you sign up.

Preparing for the trip : There is an information meeting with your mountain leader the day before departure at 6pm at the Compagnie des Guides Office.
For the attention of the legal guardian of the registered minor : The legal guardian is aware of the sporting and risky nature of the activities offered as part of this service. Failure to comply with safety instructions and level requirements can lead to accidents.
You must return the following completed documents to us: Parental authorization, Health form instruction + your identity card or passport (valid).

Weight is the hiker's enemy, so pay close attention to your equipment choices as they greatly contribute to a successful trip.

Itinerary
Dent d'Oche
Meet early in the morning in Chamonix for a transfer to the heights above Bernex and Lake Geneva. We begin our ascent towards the Dent d’Oche, which we skirt along its south face. After descending to Bise, a charming perched alpine pasture, we stop for lunch to sample local cheeses.
In the afternoon, we climb the Pas de la Bosse before reaching the heights above La Chapelle d’Abondance. The minibus will be waiting to take us to the bivouac camp planned for the night.
Elevation gain: 1100m - Elevation loss: 1050m - Distance: 11.5 km
Mont Grange
After packing up camp and a short transfer, we set off from the Peruis chalets to conquer the summit of Mont Grange. A 360° view of the Chablais region unfolds before us, a region we gradually leave behind. The descent takes us along a ridge path to the Col de Bassachaux, from where we admire Lake Montriond. We will camp there and enjoy a well-deserved swim.

Col de Bostan
We begin our hike from the heights of Morzine, not far from Lac des Mines d’Or, to start the ascent towards Pas de la Latte and Tête de Bostan. In the afternoon, we reach the refuge of the same name, located at the foot of the Dents Blanches, with a breathtaking view of the Mont Blanc massif.
The descent to Les Allamands is quick; our campsite awaits us in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval or Samoëns.
Elevation gain: 1100m - Elevation loss: 1300m Distance: 13 km
Col D'Anterne
Starting from Salagny, we take the Cascade Trail, one of the most beautiful in the Alps, with its series of waterfalls, some of which are listed as protected sites. We continue towards the Collet d’Anterne, then the Alfred Wills refuge. The Fiz mountain range is reflected in Lake Anterne, a breathtaking sight. A final push takes us to the Col d’Anterne, from where we have a commanding view of the refuge of the same name (no luggage access).

Col du Brévent
On the last day of our trek, we begin at 2,000 meters altitude, starting from the refuge and descending towards the Pont d’Arlevé. We enter the Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve during the ascent to the Col du Brévent. A traverse with ladders leads us to the Brévent, the highest point of the day. The descent takes us past Lac du Brévent, the Bellachat refuge, and then the Parc de Merlet, where our minibus awaits. End of our stay in Chamonix.
