Multi-pitch rock climbing course in Chamonix from age 11

This rock climbing course is designed to introduce young climbers to the techniques required for multi-pitch climbing and to teach them how to climb as part of a roped team. They develop their skills in belaying at the belay station, rope management, setting up rappels and descent techniques. Particular attention is given to communication and coordination between members of the roped team. Each day offers the opportunity to discover new routes and different climbing sites. Young climbers also take part in planning the programme, learning how to read a guidebook and choose routes suited to their level.

This course is designed for young climbers from age 11 who already have some rock climbing experience. They must be independent in top-rope climbing and have experience in lead climbing, including belay station techniques. The programme and choice of routes are adapted to each participant's technical level and experience. To allow them to make real progress from one session to the next, registration is for all 4 days, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
