Technical Level 1: For occasional off-piste skiers who want to discover ski touring along the edge of pistes.
Technical Level 2: For regular off-piste skiers, capable of skiing in all snow conditions on wide, gentle slopes, and who want to discover ski touring.
Technical Level 3: For occasional ski tourers (2 to 5 recent outings), capable of skiing in all snow conditions on wide, gentle slopes.
Technical Level 4: For regular ski tourers (5 to 10 recent outings), capable of skiing in all snow conditions on varied slopes with some technical sections, mastering kick turns, and possessing basic knowledge of using crampons and an ice axe.
Technical Level 5: For experienced ski tourers (more than 10 recent outings), capable of skiing in all snow conditions on varied and exposed slopes with technical sections, mastering kick turns and the use of crampons and an ice axe.

The Argentiere Glacier, an exceptional ski touring destination
Easily accessible from the Grands Montets ski area, the Argentière Glacier offers a spectacular setting for ski touring. To the north, the impressive faces of the Aiguille Verte, Les Droites and other summits stretching towards Mont Dolent rise more than 1,000 metres above the glacier. To the south, the Aiguille du Chardonnet and the Aiguille d’Argentière dominate the landscape with their sharp rocky ridges. The Argentière Hut provides an ideal base for exploring this exceptional mountain environment. This two-day ski touring trip offers a complete immersion in one of the most remarkable areas of the Mont Blanc massif.

Meeting Point
9:00 AM at the Grands Montets lift ticket offices (Argentière). To reduce traffic in the valley, we recommend using public transport (bus or train).
Itinerary
This is provided as a guideline and may be adjusted according to the group's level and mountain conditions.
Technical Level
Suitable for skiers skilled in off-piste skiing in all snow conditions and with prior experience in ski touring. The terrain features wide slopes with occasional narrow sections and gradients of up to 35°. Some sections may require walking with crampons.
Physical Level
Designed for individuals who regularly engage in physical activity. Expect a positive elevation gain of up to 1,000 metres per day and an effort of 5 to 6 hours each day.
Guiding Policy
4 to 6 people per guide. Registration possible from the age of 18.
Accommodation
During the trip: half-board accommodation in a mountain hut, with nights in a dormitory. No water available at the hut.
Before and after the trip: we have hotel partners in Chamonix offering special rates to our clients.
⚠️ Documentation
Participants must have mountain sports insurance with repatriation cover. We strongly recommend that this also includes cancellation cover. You can take out insurance when you sign up. Participants must also carry valid ID.

We recommend paying particular attention to your choice of equipment, as it contributes greatly to the success of your trip. Weight is an important factor: you should always find the right balance between weight and comfort.

Itinerary
Day 1
Grands Montets - Col des Rachasses - Argentière Hut
We start from the top of the Bochard gondola (2,766 m) with a short descending traverse on skis to reach the Lognan Glacier (2,700 m). We then skin up via the Col des Rachasses to the Rognons Glacier (3,050 m). From here, we enjoy a magnificent descent to the Argentière Glacier (2,550 m), where we put our skins back on to reach the Argentière Hut (2,771 m). The hut's dining room offers impressive views of the north face of Les Droites. Overnight at the hut.
Ascent: 575 m / Descent: 750 m
Day 2
Col d’Argentière - Return to the Valley
We head towards the Col d’Argentière (3,552 m). Throughout the ascent, the views of the legendary north faces overlooking the Argentière Glacier — the Triolet, Les Courtes, Les Droites and the Aiguille Verte — are spectacular. We descend by the same route and return to the valley in the mid-afternoon.
