General information
The Compagnie des Guides shows you the summertime Chamonix valley in a highly original way! Let yourself flow along the glacier waters of the Arve, a legendary playground of the Mont Blanc region! Get your adrenaline going and enjoy the fun of rafting. Lasting 45 minutes and covering over 6km, our route is for all the family and gives you the chance to make your way through the turbulent river waters at the foot of Mont Blanc. Your instructor’s tips and advice will ensure that you avoid the traps that navigating through mountain rivers can throw up.
We meet at the Compagnie des Guides’ rafting water sports base, with its warm showers and lockers, in the heart of Chamonix. The only requirements to be able to participate in rafting are to be over 10 years old, and be over 1.3m tall. For an even more intense experience, we also organise rafting trips on the Arveyron in the Chamonix valley.
Group booking
Group booking associates people who do not necessarily know each other. It is ideal for people looking for group friendliness and attractive prices. To book online choose the day below and then choose the schedule. No online booking available for children under 12 years old: on site, mail and phone only.

Meeting point : At the water sports base located 393 Promenade du Fori - Chamonix, 10 min before the start of the activity
Supervision : Group from 4 to 8 people supervised by a guide. Children over 1.3m tall accompanied by a parent
Departure : A minimum of 4 people is required to guarantee the outing
Prices 2024 :
Until 12 years old : 40€ per person (Depending on the water flow. No online booking, only at our offices or by phone)
From 13 years old : 50€ per person
This price includes :
- supervision by instructor
- technical equipment: wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, paddle and inflatable craft
- transfer back to the water sports base

Accessing the water sports base : The base is located 393 Promenade du Fori - Chamonix, just behind the swimming pool, near the tennis courts. Car park is 150m away on the other side of the Arve river, access via the Promenade des Sonnailles footbridge.
Meeting point : At the water sports base located 393 promenade du Fori - Chamonix, 10 min before the start of the activity
Duration : 45 min on board for 2 hours activity (the schedule is given as an indication)
Location : On the Arve river from the water sports base
Level : Beginner, over 1.3m tall, max weight 120kg. Water sport: be able to float on the back and keep the head above water for 5 seconds, to jump, to swim 25 meters, and to pass under a floating object.
